Here’s a window into the time I had while away from the blog this past month. I’m so thankful I took this break and spent so much time with my boys when outside of clinic. Unplugging has turned into the ultimate luxury…
Thanks for sharing these great photos. Your summer looked a lot like ours – taking advantage of this beautiful area we live in! Glad you got the time off to be with your family and I’d love to hear your thoughts on Raising a Spirited Child. I’ve been thinking a lot about this as my daughter’s third birthday approaches!
The book–well, I haven’t finished. But it was divine (so far). I felt so much better even after reading the first chapter. She provides a sense of calm, camaraderie, hope, etc about valuing the spirit and energy and optimism and skill set of spirited children. That, in and of itself, was something I needed…I suppose I should write a review of just that!!
READ IT. That’s my advice. Easy to find a used copy….
It’s so encouraging to see you set aside this time for yourself to unplug and enjoy all the fleeting moments we take for granted. I’m constantly reassessing how my time gets eaten up by the smallest things. I’ve been thinking a lot about how important it is to model this for our kids too, as they grow up and become more aware of how we prioritize our activities.
And yes, please do write a review of the book if you get a chance. Sounds like something I should read too! I need a reminder to value spirit and energy in my kids.
Looks like a wonderful summer – great pictures. Aiden can’t wait to see you in November (when we return to the NW!) He keeps talking about his doctor. It’s really cute.
